About Us

It gives me immense pleasure to introduce myself ‘Siddharth N Shah’.  Since childhood I had been attracted towards the hobby of coin and currency collection and after studying and getting in-depth knowledge on this subject, I planned my career into the field of numismatics. At present, I am a professional numismatist with more than 20 years of experience and have a well established numismatic setup ‘SNS Coin Investment Gallery’ at Raghuleela Mall, Kandivali (W), Mumbai Here, I share anything and everything related to collecting of Indian coins and currency notes, whether they are definitive, commemorative or erratum, about single, or in sets (uncirculated, specimen, or proof edition) etc.Further I also assist in coin valuation and as a step of promoting this hobby within new collectors I have always been regular with my updates through color charts and booklets, announcements through messages, mails that has proved to be a major help-source over the years, not only to new collectors but also to senior numismatists. And as I started my independent coin gallery in Mumbai, I also started the ‘Indian Coins and Currency Group’ (ICCG). Indian Coins & Currency Group (ICCG) is a group dedicated to informing and helping the general public about numismatics and promoting all facets of the hobby of coin and currency collecting.

The group is open to all members of the public of good character who share the interest, passion and love towards the hobby without regard to race, gender, religion, or national origin. The group also offers membership to general public who feel interested to be a part of this great hobby through which they could avail all the benefits that the group offers. The group has 4500 plus active members from all over India and still counting.Hobby is always a part of education is what I always believed and thus I came up with the world’s first and only ‘Numismatic Anthem – Meri Dharrohar’. This musical anthem was a just the next step to show respect towards every single collectible of every hobby lover. As I believed, the anthem would further encourage and bring pride to all the numismatists and collectors.

My journey is surely continuing from here, as the main goal is always to save our coins and heritage by providing proper knowledge and creating awareness among current and coming generation.Soon I started India’s only numismatic newspaper ‘ICCG News’ of which I am the Chief Editor. ICCG News is dedicated to informing and helping the general public about numismatics & philatelic and promoting all facets of the hobby of coin, stamp and currency collecting. ICCG News is a monthly news paper based on numismatic articles and news. The news paper is regularly being distributed to all ICCG members along with the Government sectors and Colleges of India. Today we are into our fourth year of this news monthly. This monthly newspaper also provides reports on market trends and news concerning collectibles like coins, paper money, stamps etc. Apart of the news, the paper contains numismatic and philatelic articles and interviews to add up to good reading.  It also contains complete information on all upcoming numismatic and philatelic events. My journey is surely continuing from here, as the main goal is always to save our coins and heritage by providing proper knowledge and creating awareness among current and coming generation.

Warm regards,

Siddharth Shah.

What is a numismatist?

Numismatics is a name given to the study of coins and a numismatist is someone who studies coins. It is not a word we hear in everyday conversation, but it is an important one. A numismatist is defined as a person who studies coins, and in many cases, collects coins. Numismatists play an important role in finding out a lot about a place or a kingdom because written inscriptions are usually destroyed by various natural factors, whereas coins remain intact for thousands of years and thus they can extend their study and collection to other forms like coin and currency valuation.

Who is a coin valuer?

When it comes to finding the true value of old coins or banknotes, it can sometimes be difficult knowing where to start. As is the case with all collectables, rare coin values depend on many different aspects – such as their age, condition and rarity – with the same factors also affecting old banknote valuations.A coin valuer provides you with professional, impartial advice with no obligation to sell. A coin valuer recognizes that, when you’re thinking of selling a coin collection or looking to obtain a banknote valuation, you need to be confident that the people you’re dealing with are trustworthy and have the necessary experience.

Investing in coins can certainly be profitable. Since coins have been minted for roughly the last 2,500 years, getting a grasp on which rare coins make the best investment requires knowledge and attention to detail. Whether investing in a full collection or inspecting your daily pocket change, coins with a high market price can be found almost everywhere but it is important to know which old coins are valuable.

Our reputed and valued clients are

The prices that may be advised are based on personal 20 years experience and also compiled from a number of independent, third party sources in the numismatic community which I believe to be reliable. Prices provided are averages – not specific prices for individual coins. Further, because these prices are only updated from time to time, they do not reflect short term pricing trends, which are quite common and are often quite dramatic, given the volatile nature of the collectible coin marketplace. This is especially true for rare coins, where there are fewer sales and greater variations in sale prices. Note: Retail prices for collectible coins can vary between dealers — sometimes significantly — based on a number of factors, including short-term pricing trends, eye appeal, trading frequency, special characteristics, market availability, demand and precious metal spot prices.
